|BEAMA and BEMCA
||BEAMA is the UK trade association for the controls, metering and communications industries. Activities are concentrated mainly in the residential sector, and to the energy related services to dwellings. BEMCA is the specific association of meter manufacturers and meter communication companies.
|Distribution Connection and Use of System Agreement (DCUSA)
||The Distribution Connection and Use of System Agreement (DCUSA) was established as a multi-party contract between the licensed electricity distributors, suppliers and generators of Great Britain. It is concerned with the use of the electricity distribution systems to transport electricity to or from connections to them. The DCUSA replaced numerous bi-lateral contracts, giving a common and consistent approach to the relationships between these parties in the electricity industry. It is a requirement that all licensed electricity distributors and suppliers become parties to the DCUSA.
||ElectraLink Ltd is the "Service Controller" responsible for the provision of the Data Transfer Service to all parties participating in the electricity retail market, under the terms of the Data Transfer Service Agreement. ElectraLink provides other commercial data transfer services to companies in the electricity and gas industries. ElectraLink also provides the secretariat to support the gas industry's Supply Point Administration Agreement and SPAA Ltd.

||ENA is the industry body that represents the licensed gas and electricity transmission and distribution companies in the UK. |Electrical Safety Council
||The Electrical Safety Council is an independent charity committed to reducing deaths and injuries through electrical accidents at home and at work. They are supported by all sectors of the electrical industry as well as local and central government and work to promote safety and good practice.
||ELEXON is the Balancing and Settlement Code Company (BSCCo) defined and created by the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC or 'the Code'). All licensed electricity companies are obliged to sign the Code, other parties may choose to do so. The Code places obligations on ELEXON and all Parties.
|Energy Retail Association (ERA)
||The Energy Retail Association established in October 2003 is the only dedicated trade association for energy suppliers. All the main energy suppliers operating in the domestic market in the UK are members of the new association - British Gas, EDF Energy, npower, E.On, Scottish Power, and Scottish & Southern Energy.

|European Smart Metering Alliance (ESMA)
||European Smart Metering Alliance aims to explain how information from energy meters (electricity, gas, heat, cooling) can be provided to customers so that they manage their consumption and save themselves money and reduce their carbon footprint. The implementation of smart metering is a complex topic that will require the energy companies of Europe to introduce new technologies, processes and products. Some countries are more advanced in this than others and ESMA will collect information from these and provide it to other countries so that they can accelerate their adoption of smart metering.
||The Gas Forum comprises every significant GB gas shipper and gas supplier ('gas shippers' own gas from import at the beach terminals to the point of delivery to customers premises where "gas suppliers" then sell the gas to the customer). The Gas Forum has taken the lead in formulating the rules for governance of the retail side of the gas industry.

|Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM)
||IGEM's purpose is to be the independent influential body that efficiently and effectively represents and develops its membership by working with all interested parties adds value to the international gas industry. IGEM publishes a series of technical standards for the gas industry.
|Master Registration Agreement (MRA)
||The Master Registration Agreement (MRA) is the multiparty agreement between Electricity Suppliers, Meter Registration Service Providers, The Electricity Pool of England and Wales, Scottish Electricity Settlements
Limited and MRASCo. The MRA Service Company Limited (MRASCo) is the company established by signatories to the MRA to be responsible for managing the day to day operation and future development of the MRA.
|Meter Operation Code of Practice Agreement (MOCOPA)
||The Meter Operation Code of Practice Agreement (MOCOPA) is an agreement between Electricity Distribution Businesses and Electricity Meter Operators in GB. The agreement enables Meter Operators to install and connect meters to the Distribution Networks. The agreement covers safety, technical and interface issues.
|National Measurement Office (NMO)
||The National Measurement Office is an Executive Agency of the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills. The focus of the NMO work is ensuring that fair and accurate measurement is available and used for transactions regulated by law. Any Gas or Electricity meter used for the purpose of billing, whether by a licensed energy supplier or a landlord, must be of an approved design.

||The SBGI has taken the Energy and Utilities Alliance name to embrace the challenges facing a 21st Century trade body. EUA also reflects the natural evolution to representation in other parts of the energy and utility industry.
Building on our 107 year history, during which SBGI has been the only trade association covering the whole of the onshore gas industry, in recent years its scope has extended to other parts of the other energy and utilities sector.
|SPAA Ltd - Supply Point Administration Agreement (SPAA)
||SPAA Limited is the corporate structure established by licensed gas supply companies working within the UK gas industry to manage the Supply Point Administration Agreement (SPAA). The SPAA has been created to provide a robust governance arrangement for making changes to the processes and procedures that are required to enable supplier-to-supplier inter-operability within the industry.
|The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (OFGEM)
||Ofgem is the Office of the Gas and Electricity Markets, regulating the gas and electricity industries in Great Britain. Ofgem's aim is to bring choice and value to all gas and electricity customers by promoting competition and regulating monopolies. Ofgem is governed by an authority and its powers are provided for under the Gas Act 1986, the Electricity Act 1989 and the Utilities Act 2000.
|The UK Revenue Protection Association
||The term 'Revenue Protection' covers those activities to deter, detect and deal with illegal abstraction of gas and electricity by interference with a meter or the supply equipment. The UKRPA provides a forum for the exchange of information between bona fide parties involved in RP work and the promotion of their common interests. Associate membership is open to providers of services and products.

|Utiliteam (GB) Ltd
||Utiliteam is a specialist Utility-based consultancy that has recent experience of gaining accreditation for Meter Operations (MO) businesses using the Utilisoft Automated Meter Operations Solution (AMOPS) which is a product designed to support new MO entrants. The solution supports both Half Hourly and Non-Half Hourly electricity Meter Operations. During 2006 and 2007, Utiliteam successfully implemented AMOPS with three new-entrant MO clients, gaining Elexon accreditation along the way.
